What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They help websites remember information about your visit — for example, your preferences or whether you have already consented to cookies — so that your next visit is easier and more useful.

Some cookies are set by the website you are visiting; others are set by third-party services that the website uses, such as analytics or advertising platforms.

How this website uses cookies

This is an artist portfolio website. It does not run advertising or track visitors by default. At present, only a single necessary cookie is in use — to remember that you have already responded to this consent notice.

Analytics and marketing cookies may be added in the future (see the table below). They will never activate without your explicit consent.

Cookie categories

Necessary

Always activeActive now

These cookies are required for the website to function. They do not collect personal data for tracking or marketing purposes.

Examples: Cookie consent preference (irines_consent_v1), Security tokens, Contact form session
Retention: Stored locally in your browser. Cleared when you clear browser data.

Analytics

Not yet active

Used to understand how visitors navigate the site — pages visited, time spent, device type. The data is aggregated and anonymised where possible.

Examples: Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _gid)
Retention: Up to 2 years (Google Analytics default). Not currently active.

Preferences

Not yet active

Remembers choices you make so they persist between visits, such as a preferred language or display setting.

Examples: Language setting, Display preference
Retention: Varies. Not currently active.

Marketing

Not yet active

Used to show relevant advertising and measure the effectiveness of campaigns. These cookies track you across websites.

Examples: Google Ads (_gcl_au), Meta Pixel (_fbp), Remarketing tags
Retention: Up to 180 days depending on the service. Not currently active.

How consent works

On your first visit, a banner appears at the bottom of the screen. You can:

  • Accept all — enables all cookie categories.
  • Reject non-essential — only necessary cookies remain active.
  • Cookie settings — opens a detailed panel where you can choose category by category.

Your choice is saved in your browser and the banner will not reappear unless you clear your browser data.

Withdrawing or changing consent

You can change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time using the button below. This does not affect the lawfulness of any processing that occurred before you withdrew consent.

You can also manage cookies directly in your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking all cookies may affect how the website functions.

Google Consent Mode v2

This website is built to comply with Google Consent Mode v2 from day one. This means that even before analytics or advertising scripts are installed, the infrastructure is in place to signal your consent choices to Google services. Until you grant consent, all tracking parameters remain in their default "denied" state.
